What? You may wonder why I would blog about PIE at Knotts Scary Farm! If you know me at all you know that I do not like to eat pie at all! Well PIE stands for Pizza Intercession and Evangelism, or our GCC evangelism team! Each October we go out to Knotts Scary Farm and stand on the streets to hand out gospel tracts to the thousands of people going into the park. It is such a great event for us to go hand out tracts at. Chad and I were able to hand out 700 tracts in less than an hour(we will definitely get more next week!). I noticed that we had several people who asked if they were cards for call girls or something similar. Others asked if they were for a club or bar. Its sad to think that they saw us handing out the tracts and immediately wanted them for that reason. At least they took them and we pray they read them and repent of their sins and put their faith and trust in Christ. Every few minutes we would walk down the street and pick up the tracts that were dropped on the ground and "recycle" them. It was such a great night of tract passing out and I hope some others are able to come next week when we go. I pray that more people would be burdened for the lost and have a desire to share the gospel with them. We are commanded to in Matthew 28:18-20 "And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." It is estimated that approximately 250,000 to 300,000 people die each day (answers.com). That is alot of people! I hope you see the importance of evangelism in light of this staggering statistic.~N
