Alright well I have been using the "Read the Bible in 90 days," reading method found here. I enjoyed this method, but after a while, I found myself just reading to check off a box, and not reading to learn. I figured it was time to reassess my Bible reading and find a new strategy I used to just read random books, which is ok sometimes, but not all the time.
I will now be using Professor Horner's Bible Reading System. There are ten lists, and you read a chapter from each list a day. Each list contains various books and you just keep reading them, even if you finish that particular list, you just start over! Here it is:
THE TEN LISTS:
List 1 (89 days)
Matthew, Mark, Luke, John
List 2 (187 days)
Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy
List 3 (78 days)
Romans, I&II Cor, Gal, Eph, Phil, Col, Hebrews
List 4 (65 days)
I&II Thess, I&II Tim, Titus, Philemon, James, I&II Peter, I,II&III John, Jude, Revelation
List 5 (62 days)
Job, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon
List 6 (150 days)
Psalms
List 7 (31 days)
Proverbs
List 8 (249 days)
Joshua, Judges, Ruth, I&II Samuel, I&II Kings, I&II Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther
List 9 (250 days)
Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea, Joel, Amos, Obadiah, Jonah, Micah,
Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi
List 10 (28 days)
Acts
This will be challenging, but also a great way to be in the word! Let me know what you think and I will let you know how it is going :)

sounds good...you will read the entire bible at least 1 time in the year....and most of the Bible will have been read 3-4 times in the course of the year.
ReplyDeleteWooohoooo! I'm so happy you are starting this Bible reading program! I have been using it since July 1st and have three months to go. It was challenging at first, but now I don't know how I survived on only reading 10 or 15 minutes! I love how it has you all over the Bible and I am thoroughly enjoying it!
